I love Baroque and Before music (that was the name of a wonderful program on a now sadly-defunct classical radio station in Chicago) and Vivaldi is part of that. So - Happy Birthday, Signore Vivaldi!! (Hmm. I need some "music" icons.)

Anyhow, also? Thank you for this!

Me too - we still have the national classical music radio station, which our car is pretty much glued to :)

Our car default is a jazz station, but there are times when I *need* Baroque and Before.

One reason I so love youtube... there is just so much classical music, I find new stuff all the time.

Oh, that's excellent! Thanks for posting it.

I know almost nothing about Vivaldi except that he belongs to the Wig Ages (I think?) but he made some good music.

He has quite an interesting life story, was music master and composed many of his works for the girl's ensemble at a home for abandoned children he worked for...

THAT'S SO SWEET, at least in my head. . . I guess I'd better take myself to Wikipedia to learn more.

Happy Birthday Mr V!

He always makes me happy - you can't help but smile at all that enthusiasm for life, can you?

Yep, as Sis says, his is happy music as well as brilliant :) My favourite is the Gloria, but I love a lot of his works...

And I missed it! Boo hiss!

For me, it's always The Four Seasons, but, honestly, I love it all.

The Four Seasons is indeed wonderful, though I will admit, the Gloria wins out as my favourite...

Thank you for both reminding us of Vivaldi´s birthday and for the music. Vivaldi´s name and his music go together well, don´t they?:-)
