I could refuse, but then they would treat me as diabetic anyway.
I have to keep taking these test because I am at a high risk of developing GD.
I had mild GD with my first. Severe with my second that required tons of insulin.
I'm obese. My mother had diabetes, my sister does, my grandparents do, my great grandparents did.
My second baby weighed over 9lbs. Etc, etc, etc...so I'm at a higher risk of developing it.
I've lost weight since my last pregnancy and I eat a heck of a lot better...so here's hoping that I still won't develop it later on.

Thanks and no problem in the clarification.
I know as doulas we always tell people that they can refuse tests that aren't necessary. If I didn't have all that stacked against me, I sure would refuse it. LOL.

I know as doulas we always tell people that they can refuse tests that aren't necessary. If I didn't have all that stacked against me, I sure would refuse it. LOL.
