The smells of corn dogs, cotton candy, funnel cake, and an assortment of other carnival food reached the Saiyan's nostrils. As if in a trance the tantalizing smells pulled the Saiyan until he reached the edge of the carnival. It was then that the smells released their strong hold on Goku's nose and stomach and he looked wide eyed at the colors and strange array of people that were walking about

A hand - too long, with fingernails like claws - deposited several coins on the counter to Goku's left. "If you will allow me."

The hand, coins, and dry tenor voice all belonged to Seymour Guado, who smiled at the vendor in a way that suggested it would be best to hurry. A half-foot taller than Goku, calm, speaking quietly and moving slowly, and wearing complicated robes of white brocade and deep blue: he suggested order, cleanliness, and discipline in the delightful dusty chaos of the festival.

"You are new here?" He asked politely, if pompously. His eyes roamed rather freely over Goku's muscular form.

Goku turned to look at the man beside him. His eyes met with Seymour's chin and he slowly looked up to meet the taller man's eyes. "Oh, wow thanks you didn't have to do that!" Goku said feeling embarrassed and quickly placing his hand behind his head. The motion caused the muscles in Goku's arm to flex and he was completely oblivious to the look the taller man was giving him.

"Yeah...I uh..." Goku started to say feeling a little as if he was talking to Vegeta. This guy had the same 'better-than-thou' air about him. "I don't know how I got here, but what is this place?" Hopefully this guy wasn't as much of a jerk as Vegeta was though. If that was the case he was definitly barking up the wrong tree for answers.

"Salkia Island," Seymour explained. "It is a nexus: residents of many worlds are called here. It is no trouble about your lunch; I am pleased to be of service."

He surveyed the milling crowd, one hand raised to shade his eyes from the brilliant sunshine. "You appear to have caught us during festival season."
