She had, prior to Mukuro's arrival, occupied herself with the sight of her hand moving through the water, her own reflection in the ripples, and her thoughts, ones that came and went beyond the pleasant blankness that she had willed her mind into. It was something of a defense mechanism, really: simply carrying on as designed, without putting much of anything until there was a need for it.

At the sound of Mukuro's voice, however, it all came back to her: their first conversation, the fights with the Varia, being swept into the future, seeing him again, feeling him disappear. Like a beginning and an end.

She stood, clutching her trident close against her shoulder. One eye lifted, to study the profile of a Mukuro-sama that was both HER Mukuro-sama, but also entirely different.

"Mukuro-sama."

Mismatched eyes discreetly looked her over, taking in the subtle differences from when he had last interacted with her, which seemed like so long ago now. He had stopped counting the days from the moment he arrived on the island and who knew how time differed from here compared to other worlds. The guess of what could have happened during the time span was as good as anyone's.

But all those thoughts were irrelevant now. There was no way to get off, despite people being able to leave and sometimes even coming back. It was all a mystery, really.

Mukuro approached Chrome, his usual indulging smile on his face. "Are you well, Chrome." His words always seemed to be more of a statement than a question when speaking to her.

Chrome welcomed the scrutiny. It was coming from Mukuro, after all.

"I am."

As well as she could be, anyway, with this strange, new environment suddenly thrust upon her.

"That is good to hear."

And it was good to see for himself. Yes, this certainly was the Chrome that he remembered from the last he had heard of her. The island worked in strange ways and though he wanted to uncover all of it's mysteries, he knew it would be a difficult endeavor. But that was neither here nor there.

Taking out his L337Pod again, Mukuro checked the house listing to see where she had ended up. The apartment building. So she wouldn't be that far from where he was. Putting away his LP again, he gestured for the young girl to follow him.

"Come with me, Chrome. I will answer any questions you may have regarding anything you wish to know," he said as he turned toward where the town was.
