There were a lot of strange people who appeared on Salkia Island. Many had powers unheard of in Ken's world, some had powerful weapons, a few had dangerous personalities. But he had never seen anyone wearing quite an outfit in the snow.

"Hey, are you okay?" he called, carefully stepping off the path and into the snow towards the forest.

Pretty good! I'd rather stay here than go back to school. kaiser_in_rehab January 3 2011, 04:38:38 UTC
This time Ken was flailing as he was pulled close again. What the heck was this guy trying to do, strangle him? No...no, clearly he wanted Ken to go with him. Fine. He had been intending to take this strange man into town anyway. It was the polite thing to do.

"I...well," Ken stammered, struggling to keep up a little. "She gave us all wings, once. And turned us into animals. She's the one making it snow now."

What're you studying? And whoo, not so busy anymore~ dontbeanegaton January 7 2011, 02:43:42 UTC
He ignored Ken's flailing and struggling, too caught up in his desire to learn more.

"Animals, you say? What kinds?" Warden couldn't help but want to know more. It sounded like Kia might as much control over this island as he had over Superjail, so he couldn't help but be interested.

[Time warp to town? Maybe you can take him to his new apartment, Ken, because Kaiba totally wouldn't hate you, nope. Or give him a tour~]

"Animals...um, someone was a puppy, someone was a bird...someone was a dragon, I think," Ken stammered, rather stunned that he was still being dragged. He couldn't see a way out of it. The man was bigger than he was, and seemingly much more...motivated. Excited even. It wasn't anything like any of the other new residents arriving on Salkia.

"H-hey....um, how about I show you where your apartment is? There should be a note on your LP saying where it is," he offered. Maybe then the man would stop latching to him.

[Just say they walk to it, that's fine. Or ask for a tour. I don't mind either way~]

At least you don't hate yourself -too- much, hahah. Imaging/Digital Arts/idekanymore here. dontbeanegaton January 7 2011, 08:00:53 UTC
"My what?" Oh hey, what's this thing he just noticed in his pocket? He pulls out his little communicator and fiddles with it, taking note of the different functions as they walk to town.

"...A:11?"

AND THEN THEY WALK TO IT.

Well...it depends on who I'm working for and the kind of bullshit I have to spew. |D kaiser_in_rehab January 7 2011, 18:24:24 UTC
It wasn't too far. Only the arm kind of...pulling him along, and the snow that had been on the ground for a few weeks now really hampered them. Kia never dropped the new ones too far from civilization. Even so, when the apartment building came into recognizable view, Ken couldn't help but sigh quietly in relief.

"A:11 is on the first floor, I think. The very first one," he pointed out quietly. "I don't know who you'd be sharing it with, though."

Yeah, true. dontbeanegaton January 8 2011, 18:48:46 UTC
He was a little too distracted by his new toy to really notice Ken's discomfort. And there was the fact that he probably didn't care.

"I have to share?" Well, hopefully it wouldn't be too bad. "Who else is on the island?"

"Everyone does," Ken replied quickly by way of apology. "It's not too bad, they're nice apartments. The one I used to have was bigger than the one my family shared at home, and if you don't like your roommate, you'll get switched to have another one soon."

The second question was a bit harder. The boy had to stop and think for a minute. "All sorts of people," he finally said. "There's a kid younger than me, and an alien, a guy in the United States military, a CEO, some people who play card games for a living...lots of people."

Well, he's dealt with worse. At least he had his own place here... sort of.

He let go and without notice, shook Ken's hand again. "Well, thanks for getting me out of that forest!"

Ken almost fell flat on his face as soon as the arm he was forced against moved away. There was quite a bit of stumbling, but he just barely stayed up. The hand that caught his own didn't hurt.

"I...um, no problem," he said, still feeling rather awkward about the whole thing. "It doesn't help anyone to just leave new people out there with no idea what's going on."
