Kagome sighed as she looked down on her tray. It had been awhile since she had pay for lunch but it was the same old food and the same old nasty things to eat. She wished that Principal Kaiba would spend more money on it.

He blinked when something his the back of his head. He didn't quite flinch but he made sure the tie on his eye-patch hadn't been hit. Maybe he was just imagining things? He reached up and touched the back of his head and pulled his hand away. He looked at the food and let out a soft sigh. He had sort of hoped the teasing would die down with prom nearing. He took a napkin and dipped it in his water bottle before he started to scrape the school lunch out of his hair.

Maybe he could convince Serenity to eat outside the school with him until the school year was over?

"Serenity did I get it all out?"

She saw him moving about, and looked only until he reached to the back of his head. She blinked, putting down her water bottle, and leaned back to see what the trouble was with his hair.

She gasped and looked behind them, quick glance - noticing Kagome - before she brought her attention back to Ritsuka. This was unacceptable and Kagome would hear of this. She began to fuss with her fingers to his hair while she reached for her own napkin.

"A little bit more.. hold on a sec.." she swallowed and pulled out a comb and wet her napkin with her water. Damping the food to soften it a bit more then mashed potatoes were, and she began to gently come out his hair. If they needed to, they'll head for the bathroom so that he could wash his hair out in the sink.

A satisfied nod. Then her glare turned on Kagome "Watch it.. Or should I just dump my food on you? To be even." At no point did her tone suggest that she was in a playful mood.

Her eyes widen when she saw that it hit Ritsuka. He was such a quiet boy and he seemed so sad and lonely. Of all the people that she wished that did not hit, he was on top of the list. When Serenity glared at her, Kagome glared back. It had been an accident, she did not mean to do it.

"Don't get all high and mighty on me Serenity! It was an accident! I certainly did not mean to hit Ritsuka! Had it be you however, that might have been another story...

Ritsuka locked a calm eye on Kagome. He doubted the affect was poignant since he had on an eye-patch. He kept his gaze leveled on Kagome and wondered if she actually cared that she was at fault for the accident. No, her reaction suggest that she didn't. Ritsuka moved and rested a hand on Serenity's wrist. His eye narrowed. Had Kagome been trying to hit Serenity? She had said it was an accident that she hit him not that her food had gone flying.

"Serenity, it's," well it wasn't fine, he hadn't actually done anything to deserve this. But he didn't want Serenity getting upset over something and someone like Kagome. Serenity and Kagome's personalities in general clashed on the best of days. Kagome's huffiness and Serenity's protectiveness was just a bad idea. "I'll be fine, it's just some food. She's not worth it." His grip tightened only a little when he thought that the dark haired girl could have potentially sent the food at Serenity and just missedHe turned to look back at Kagome and just eyed her again before he cleared ( ... )
