Early Morning Notes

Kio had heard the music and wondered who else was at the school that early in the morning. His hair was still a little damp from the rain outside but he had come to check on the art pieces that had been laid out to dry the night before. There were several pieces of student work that were going to be displayed at the dance Saturday but the humidity and rain was causing some of them to dry slower than expected. Listening as the other played Kio didn’t want to interrupt and simply stood off to the side listening and watching as the rain fell. It really was a beautiful piece and caused Kio to think back a little on others, he wondered what the person playing it must have felt as well. Until he was brought from his thought by the end of the song and the person asking him something,

"Oh, no I just heard the music and wondered who else was here this early. I didn’t mean to interrupt you, it was beautiful."

Fredrick looked up at the man and nodded softly before standing up. He was a very shy man and could hardly play in the presence of others. Staring at the ground he waited for the man to say something and he heard that he didn't need the piano, "Ah well thank you for the compliment, it was in memory of someone I lost, I'm sure she's grateful for the respect." Fredrick began picking up his sheets of music and putting them away before anything else was said. Biting his lower lip, Fredrick picked up his brief case and tipped his hat, "Pardon my leave but I have class in two hours and must prepare." Okay well that was a lie but still...he never spoke much to the other teachers and preferred to keep to himself around the school...yes...Fredrick was anti-social.

"Oh, who was it?"

Kio really was interested in knowing, the music was so moving it must have been someone that was really close to him. Even if he was shy it wouldn't cause Kio to hesitate, if anything he would be more persistent and worry about them. Hearing him say that he had to get ready to class the blond smiled and opened the door for him,

"Oh what do you teach? A music class or music appreciation? If you needed some help all I came in for was to check up on a few paintings that some of my students did earlier this week."

Fredrick stared at the man curiously and frowned as he walked towards the door. Walking past the man he spoke the name of the girl who envoked such feelings of sorrow and inspiration, "Emilia." he whispered softly before walking out into the hall. Fredrick heard the man ask what he taught and a light smile came on his face, "I'm the new creative writing teacher." he confessed softly before walking a little quicker ahead. Suddenly the man was asking if he needed help. Staring now in wonder, Fredrick then nodded, "Of course, that is if you have time."

When he finished, Feliciano started to clap. "Oh wow that was amazing"

He said with awe in his voice! He was walking by when he heard the music beginning and he had to see who the person was who was playing. When he saw Chopin, he remained quietly by and waited for him to finish. Tears could be seen in his eyes as he responded to the beautiful melody that he had played

Fredrick stopped and looked at Feliciano and smiled, "Thank you, it's nice to see you here so early. What brings you here?" Stopping he turned around and gently patted the seat next to him. "Has Principal Kaiba been giving you any problems?" he asked curiously before turning back and playing a few random notes. Looking at the boy as he had tears in his eyes Fredrick bowed his head, "I apologize I didn't mean to make you cry." he whispered, "I was just thinking about my Sister."

Feliciano returned his smile "Oh I was just walking by when I heard you play." He went and sat next to the other man. "Kaiba has been giving the usual problems. He thinks the Arts are useless and I know he is cutting the budget and he's thinking of getting rid of them. What about you?" He patted the other man's shoulder "It was so beautiful."

Fredrick smiled at the man as he joined him on the bench and spoke. Kindly the dark haired man listened as his colleague spoke of the Principal with a twinge of fear and he patted his back, "Never fear, he won't be rid of you so easily not when so many of the kids love you and you have a great deal of friends ready to stand up for you as well." he said comfortingly. Shrugging the man shook his head, "I'm not sure what he has planned for me all that I know is he ruined my plans for saturday." Smiling Fredrick appreciated the compliment and shrugged, "Thank you but it's nothing."
