That he was pissing off Kaiba was a bonus to the situation. Honestly it was. Having been around Kallen and Cissnei and Yuuki in the past few weeks he needed to be around someone of his own sex. Jing appreciated and adored women, but Kir was male and he missed male company. Plus, it would be nice to just teasingly flirt with someone without have it mean anything. Jing wouldn't have to toe the line (as he often did) of flirtation while treading close to actual feelings. Cissnei knew him well enough to just take all teasing and flirting as if it were face value. That fact amused Jing. But Jing had teased and flirted with Atem and the other had handled it just fine

Atem had been busying himself buckling the collar around his neck when he'd heard the knock on his door. He didn't even take a look at the clock, knowing Jing was probably as prompt as he'd expected. Once the collar was snapped into place, he moved into the main room and looked towards Usagi's bedroom door. She still hadn't come home.

He'd have to worry about that later.

Before he answered the door, he walked into the kitchen to take a few pain pills. The wounds on his abdomen and arms were still healing (though luckily there were just some light scratches on his face, no need for bandages anymore)and they still ached. After the two pills were downed he went to the door and opened it with a smile.

"Good evening, Jing."

"Atem," he grinned in greeting as he pushed off the wall. "Ready for our date?" he asked.

He was feeling out Atem's mood and Jing would adjust his tone and pace accordingly. After all, unlike Kaiba, Jing had no intention of antagonizing one of his few male friends. Though Jing still had doubts that Atem considered him as such. The wound on Jing's arm from his sword had scabbed over and now it was just a thin line across his arm.

Jing couldn't help but be amused at the leather Atem wore.

"As ready as I'll ever be." He responded in kind. Atem knew how to be sociable and amicable in any situation, it came with past experience. Even though some things did make him feel nervous or uncomfortable in these times. Jing's previous discussion of 'yummy leather' certainly had put him through a state of serious questioning. But it was Kaiba's interference that had him accepting a lot easier.

Of course he wasn't going out with Jing to betray Seto or form a new level of relationship with the Bandit King. But friends could go out. And he did consider Jing a friend. With everything that was going on, it would at least be nice to get out and perhaps get his mind off of things.

Though as he stepped through the doorway, he quickly contemplated about leaving the door unlocked. What if Usagi came home but forgot her key? A sigh escaped him as he did finally decide to leave it unlocked for the girl. But he tried to excuse it, smiling once more at his companion. "Did you have a place in mind?"
