Who: Szayel and Rukia. Where: The mountains. When: Afternoon What: Rukia calls Szayel over for a "test". Szayel does not approve, really. :| Warnings: Probably a lot of swearing from Szayel. XD
Rukia had made her way back to the mountain after meeting with Usagi. And during that time, she trained enough so she could handle the powers quite well. It was still strange to be using powers that weren't her own.
Perhaps she hoped Szayel would be a little less hostile than before. And there would be no tricks this time, at least, not coming from him.
"Exactly why I could care less about your duty," Szayel sneered. "Because, my dear snowflake, it takes my own lack of abilities before you even have a chance of damaging me, not to mention eliminate me."
"For the record, I'm not your anything." The girl said, clearly annoyed. "So you say," Rukia retorted. "Are you saying this because I defeated the one below you?"
"I really couldn't care less about him," Szayel replied, a bored tone coming to his voice. "Useless endeavors such as revenge are meaningless. I'm saying that you cannot defeat me when I am at my normal strength merely because it is true."
"Aren't you getting a bit ahead of myself? You think because you defeat Ichigo that you will bring me to the same fate?" True enough, Ichigo was stronger than her. But the one thing that worked to her advantage that was she was level headed, and perhaps the fact she had kido.
"Of course," Szayel replied, sounding bored explaining the obvious to her. He approached her slowly, a fingers casually pressed against the bridge of his glasses. "It's not a matter of strength or power, it's a matter of intellect. I will defeat you, merely because you do not have the intelligence to keep up with me."
"Nothing," he replied with a sneer. "I'm just waiting for the moment where you realize you should enjoy what you have now, because when this ridiculous event is over..."
He trailed off, a wicked expression settling on his face.
Rukia's eyes opened wide by his move. It was strange, she should have been able to tell that was coming. Right, she didn't her own powers but Usagi's. The blow hit her full force, knowing her off the side of the mountain.
Szayel let out a bored sigh, adjusting his glasses as he watched her fall. Honestly... if that was her best effort with those new strange powers of hers, he really pitied the person they were meant to belong to.
With a sigh he turned, looking for a safer way down the mountain than he had taken up it.
There were many still moments before a constant sound was heard in the wind. Okay, Rukia didn't have this part practiced too much, but thankfully the power was doing the work for her.
"Where do you think you're going, ex-Espada?" Rukia questioned without her body being seen.
It took some time, but she let the power following through her do the work. And unfortunate for Szayel, the wings weren't just for show. They flapped in the wind, lifting Rukia up and back onto the cliff. Although, this happened to be a good time for a little reciprocation. He took her off guard, why not return the favor?

He surged forward at that moment, an elbow aimed for her gut, intending to knock her clear off the side of the mountain.

"Even alive, you shinigami are ridiculously annoying," he groused.
He hated it, but running was looking like a good idea right about now.
