Why this kept happening to her? Just when she thought that everything was falling into place it was taken away from her. Everything had been going just fine, her son had been here and she had finally married Minato, it had almost felt as if she was getting everything that she didn't had the chance to have. She really should have suspected that it wouldn't last long, it had started with Naruto leaving and then this island had taken Minato away from her, she was sure of that because she couldn't feel his chakra anymore.

And Minato had to disappear when things were in such disarray in the island. Kushina had been in the living room when she felt the rather familiar chakra signature, she was up and walking to the door before the knock was even heard. Trying to look as calmly as she could, she opened the door and raised an eyebrow. "My, hello there Kakashi."

As soon as she opened the door, he could see it that she was trying but of course he went along with it, at least for now. "Yo~ Kushina." He reached into his pouch and pulled out a canister with the kanji green tea on it. Holding it up in front of her, he softly smiled.

"Well, along with bringing this over, I figured you could use a little company." His smile faltered a little though not really noticeable under the mask he wore. He gently offered. "How about it?"

Bright blue eyes blinked a bit at the canister with the green tea. Well that was something she wasn't exactly expecting, none the less she accepted it and it felt strangely warm against her fingertips. She hadn't even realized she was cold and she couldn't explain why she was.

A little company, of course, she should have suspected, what other reason will he have to come over? He was checking on her and while she should be annoyed, she wasn't because at the moment, well, she really needed the company. "Fine," She said and turned around leaving the door open. "Close the door behind you, okay."

"Yeah." He weakly smiled to her response. Well, at least she was accepting it. That was a start. Kakashi did just that, walking in and closing the door behind as he excused himself in with a mutter. Removing his shoes, he quickly looked around out of habit and slowly followed behind.

He imagined his sensei sitting there with his usual big smile and softly sighed again. It did feel odd not having anyone to report to anymore and just being able to see him was a treat, catching up on lost time. His long lost mentor and friend. How empty this house must have felt to her.
