He didn't care.

That's what he had to remember, first and foremost. He wasn't supposed to care, he never would care, this was for his sake and not hers. He was using her.

Abel had pretty much told her that, right? He was only walking with her to find Cain! The moment he located his twin, he'd cut the whole thing off.

.... A-after taking her back to her house, wherever the hell that was. Something about a lake, he didn't know.

What kind of a simulation was this? Oh, sure, on a level he damn well knew this was real. From the pebbles and sticks that crunched under his feet to the sound of the wind rippling through the tree leaves, all of it was gloriously real. But surely it couldn't be! That was impossible! It took at least several days, even with modern technology, to get from the station to earth. And he'd just ended up here after stepping out a door ( ... )

Yuuki began to rock back and forth on her heels, trying her best to be patient. Her pig tails moved with the slight breeze that came. She was thankful she was wearing a jumper with a turtle neck though, it kept her warm but it was also one of the outfits her Mommy had gotten her before... Her grip on Happiny tightened for a moment. No, she wouldn't cry...she couldn't If she was going to help Abel she couldn't cry.

Crying wasn't going to bring her Mommy or Onii-sama back.

She turned her head hearing a slightly familiar voice. Her brown eyes took in the silver haired boy. She tilted her head slightly at him wondering why he was dressed in all white. It was an odd sight to see, but it a pleasant sight nonetheless. Not because he was handsome or anything (she wasn't at that age to really notice) but because he wasn't afraid of her.

"Hi!" she said, a small smile coming across her face. She was starting to feel the tiniest bit excited about helping him.

She was younger than he thought she'd be. She really did seem a lot like Seth... Her hair was a bit longer, but done up like his little sisters hair was. It was.... cute. Definitely cute. He set his mouth in a thin line almost immediately, doing his best to appear authoritative and important, even going so far as to square his shoulders and raise his chin.

He was indeed a bit taller than the average twelve year old boy. Older looking, stronger. But... a twelve year old was still a twelve year old.

The smile was greeted by that almost too serious face as he crossed his arms over his chest. Oh, he really was trying maybe just a bit too hard around her.

"It took long enough to find you. Alright, so it seems like you know more about this island than I do, you'll be the guide for now. I need you to keep an eye out for my brother." Oh, right to business, huh?

The smile on the five year old's face faded away seeing the older boy--he had to be older considering his height and all--stand up straight with his chest puffed out. She tilted her head a little, trying to figure out why he was acting like that. Maybe it was a boy thing...but then again Aidou, Ichijou...or Kippei didn't act like that. So maybe it was just something Abel did?

"I'm sorry?" she replied, unsure of what else to say. She didn't mean to make it hard for him to find her. The girl didn't go out unless she was with an adult and even then she didn't really pay attention to where they were going. She was more focused on getting to the destination and what they were going to do.

When he mentioned he had a brother her curiosity was peaked. "You have a brother too? What's he like?" Yuuki asked, hugging Happiny to her.

She wrinkled her nose for a moment. She was going to be his guide? Well...while she didn't know the island that well...she could guide him to one spot she went to a lot. The park ( ... )
