It took Neji a little longer than he wanted to get to the Bar, but it was for a good reason; he'd wanted to make sure that everything was settled before taking off. So, he had fixed his bandages and made sure to wrap a headband around the wrappings that covered his head, making sure those were the least obvious.

After, he was sprinting towards the place that Zack had said he'd be, going a little slower than normal because of his injuries, but he didn't care.

He pushed the door open once he reached the bar, glancing around then moving towards the soldier once he spotted him. He hesitated, a concerned look on his features as he approached.

``Zack-san ...``

Zack glanced over when he saw the familiar long black hair hair of his friend. He looked a little off (maybe he'd gotten a little hurt doing all that ninja training?) but Zack paid no mind to it. He figured he could handle it, right? Neji looked like the type that could take anything... or would try to take anything. In fact, maybe he should have been a little more concerned for his friend? Maybe he... ow.

Maybe he shouldn't try to move his shoulder.

"Uh...hey," he smiled.

He frowned slightly at the sight of Zack's injuries, his arms lifting to cross over his chest. He was tempted to ask what had happened to him, though it was none of his business and he was sure that Zack wouldn't want to explain.

Instead, Neji moved and sat next to him, setting his hands into his lap now.

``What happened?`` he asked, apparently unable to keep the question back.

Zack looked back to his drink. How to explain this? Should he have started from the beginning or just go straight into it? To start at the beginning meant that he had to start with Gaia and Aerith, and falling through churches, and explain why all of Shin-Ra's Turk's had sticks shoved so far up their-

Maybe he could start somewhere in the middle.

"Have you ever told somebody you love them... when you love someone else?"

Zack had hardly noticed the other in the bar until he was addressed. He looked over and took notice of his new company. He looked like he was just a kid, maybe sixteen or seventeen, and he gave off a similar vibe that jerk Kaiba did but... Well, that wasn't too strong.

He chuckled when the question was asked. Physically? Maybe. But the two girls he loved.... Ha. He definitely did deserve the beating he had received earlier.

"No, not really."

He shrugged and winced-ow. He really had to remember to stop doing that. Beer wasn't going to heal him or help his situation. In fact, it probably was making things worse, but he didn't care. It helped him feel better now and that was all that really mattered...Was he being selfish again? That... was his problem, wasn't it. It's what got him into this whole mess. That, along with not thinking before speaking. It was that, that hurt the two girls he...

He sighed.

"Yeah," he stared at the glass. "But I've had worse."

It took a lot of time gathering the nerve for the blond to finally enter the bar. He had debated all the way there, and stood near the entrance, arguing in his mind even more. Had this been Seventh Heaven, Tifa would've greeted him with a scolding of being late and a greeting.

...Not the excruciating or awkward silence he was expecting here.

Entering, his eyes wandered to the form of the once SOLDIER, dropping his gaze back to the floor. Zack had taken quite the beating, just looking was evidence enough. With all that blood, it kind of reminded him of...

He took a deep breathe. ...Right. He wasn't supposed to be thinking of that.

Approaching, still quiet as when he entered, he sat down, keeping one stool between him and the other. It was a boundary thing, and a confrontation Cloud wasn't entirely ready for. The sound of a glass placed in front of him brought him back. Tilting his head to Zack, he frowned.

"...I thought you'd be better at fixing yourself up."

Zack noticed his best friend at the entrance and waved him over. It'd been a while since he'd seen Cloud, it was nice to see him again.... even if he didn't remember this place too well.... or at all. Zack could deal with that because all that really mattered was that Cloud was here. Zack had a friend, his best friend from Gaia here with him. They were drinking and hopefully Cloud could say something that would make everything all better.

Hopefully.

He watched as the other silently sat on the bar stool and absently wondered about kicking away the one between them. Eh, he'd do it later. When the blond finally spoke he grinned. "Hard to do that when Yuffie steals your Curaga."

"She...has a habit of doing that." He agreed, giving a nod, features losing some of the tenseness he hadn't realized was there. He'd make another joke but...well, it wasn't like his sense of humor was the most attuned thing in the universe.

"I think I'm supposed to say you messed up." Cloud traced the rim of the cup with a frown. Cloud wondered why he'd be asked for advice for anything. He didn't think he was really good at these sort of things, it always perplexed him. He thought about smiling back, but he didn't really feel like it. "...Though I don't know if there's someone who hasn't."

He stared down the glass before taking a drink. "Mm, I think there are worse ways."

When Zack heard that he had messed up, he frowned again. He knew he was going to hear it a lot (he deserved it, he knew that much) but every time it was said, it didn't make him feel any better. But... maybe he wasn't supposed to feel better. Maybe he just had to deal with it. Maybe letting Jing hurt him wasn't enough and he still had to pay. Maybe he needed to feel-Wait. Was he turning into Cloud? Great.

"Worse?" he asked. What could be worse (aside from dying again)?
