Ichigo hadn't even bothered changing into his shinigami uniform, he grabbed Zangetsu and headed out. It was convenient to be without his body here, those extra two seconds to get to someone could be crucial.

Since his adopted training grounds were in the same area she had described, so it didn't take long for him to locate her with the help of his shunpo.

Ichigo stared at her back for a moment, and swallowed hard. He was already so heavy with emotion from Rukia's wish, and now he had to face Inoue. Face the fact that he'd broken his promise, that he'd failed to get stronger and win. Ichigo had lost...and he'd lost badly. And the cherry on top to the carrot top was the fact that he'd injured one of his friends. He wasn't sure he was ready to face it...to face Inoue. But he had to, so he swallowed hard and took a deep breath before speaking.

"I..Inoue?" His voice was quiet, and his brows knit as he took a step closer.

She was deep in thought, when he called her name. She had been wondering how she should say sorry to him, and how, though more importantly, when she should tell him what had happened. It no longer felt like an appropriate time, that much was obvious.

So when she heard his voice, it was more of an automatic reaction that she had whipped her head around and waved a hand.

"H-hi, Kurosaki-kun!" Her voice cut through the air, cheerful, but perhaps more cheerful than what she had been hoping it'd be. Orihime stood up slowly, smiling sheepishly, she was hesitant to look him in the eyes.

"A-ah...Hey..." Ichigo replied, lifting one hand slightly in return.

He walked closer to her, trying to hide the fact that on the inside he was a complete train-wreck with a smile. This really was bad timing on the Island's part, between the blow out fight, Rukia's and Inoue's arrival. This was gonna take some careful masking if he didn't wanna go home to have another mental breakdown. Ichigo wasn't normally emotional like that, so really it felt humiliating to cry hysterically. Even if he was alone.

"U-Um, about earlier..." She had unwittingly taken a step closer, but she stopped, the rest of her words never making it out her lips, when she saw him smile. He was trying his best, Kuchiki-san too, probably was in her own way. A smile was starting to grow, except that...

"W-Wait!"

She exclaimed it, embarrassed. Holding both hands up in the air in front of her, hiding her face as she quickly turned around, rubbing her eyes with the palm of her sleeves.
