Chrome sighed as she wandered down the street, waiting for dinner to arrive sooner. She was so hungry, yet she was in no mood to eat a proper meal yet. Perhaps a cup of coffee could do me some good.., she thought.

Chrome took a deep breath, made sure she looked presentable and pushed the door open. She entered the store, headed for the counter and asked, to the guy in green behind the counter, "So, um- what kind of drinks do you have to recommend..?"

He put on his best smile and turned to greet her, straightening up and, well, trying to look at least a little professional.

"Hey," he said, but then he paused. What would he recommend? "well, I guess it depends what you like! Personally, I've been going through a really weird kick for coffee with orange and caramel shots."

He rubbed his neck sheepishly, casting another quick glance to the menu. "But we do all sorts of stuff."

Chrome gave the guy a small smile. "I guess that orange and caramel drink would be nice.." Chrome said, softly. She looked up again and gave the guy an actual smile instead.

He held back the original answer he wanted to blurt out, (a short and shocked "really!?"), grinned and turned on his heel; it was time to make her coffee, after all!

At least he had this drink down, having made himself a couple whilst he waited in the quiet-- so she was sure to get a decent drink out of the affair. He handed the small cup over, flashing another charming smile and punched a few things into the till.

"That'll be 5.60 Monies, please."

Jeff had spent the prior night awake, tinkering with his 1337 Pod's settings to see if there was any way that he could fix what was wrong with it. He figured that maybe stepping away from working would be a good idea... after all, he was getting drowsy.

This led him to the coffee house. He had only really been in a cafe once, and that time was a bit catastrophic. However, as long as he stayed away from behind the counter, he thought that things would end up okay. Trying to keep his eyes open, he stepped up to the counter, taking a look at the menu.

"Hey, welcome to Beatnik's." He said pleasantly, a professional smile in place and his hands upon his hips has he waits for the other to order.

"Can I help you?" Boy this guy looked as tired as Phoenix felt a long day after court. He got a sympathetic smile from the spiky haired barista.

"Need a pick me up?" He offered helpfully.

His eyes glanced over to the man standing in front of him and nodded. It would help a lot, he definitely needed one of those.

"Just one cup of coffee please." He said this as he continued to scan the menu, taking off his glasses momentarily to rub his eyes.

"Coming right up!" He smiled cheerily and set about making said coffee. Now, coffee was simple enough, so he found that this would be quite an easy task for him to complete without too much fuss.

"Did you have a long night, or something?" He asked, finding that striking up a conversation couldn't hurt.

Before long, he held the coffee in front of him and over to the boy in front of him and cocked his head to the side, grinning. "Would you like anything else?"

Miles Edgeworth was never really a coffee person. He was more of a tea man, himself. He knew that these coffee shops often sold tea (not the best tea, but given the situation he could settle for this). Perhaps he could purchase a nice earl grey or black tea... Then again, there were probably all the strange starbucks teas that were commonly associated with these places. Things like Chai, green, and some strange berry-flavored tea.

He entered the shop, expecting the bean bags as well as the overwhemling smell of coffee. What he didn't expect to see was the person standing behind the till.

"Wright. What in the world are you doing?"

And Miles Edgeworth was the last person Phoenix was expecting to see. Especially here. Especially now when he's working and looking like... a worker in a coffee house. He mentally facepalmed, hoping for the world to swallow him whole as he attempted a charming smile and acted unphazed.

"Working," he said dryly and practically dripping with sarcasm. But then he stood up properly, sneaking a quick glance towards the board in front of him before turning his full attention to his friend.

"Would you like anything?"

Miles was honestly too shocked to say anything else. Yes, he wanted tea. No, he did not want it from Phoenix Wright. What was the meaning of this? In all his years, he never expected...

He frowned, ignoring the question.

"Why are you working here?"

He bit back more sarcasm to follow his first dose with a little difficulty. ('What do you think?', 'I decided that working in a coffee house would be beneficial for my resumé', 'I like the smell of coffee so much, that I just had to work here.', 'It's always been a dream of mine to work in a café'...)

"Because," he said slowly, dragging the moment out-- he supposed that there wasn't much else to do right now, anyway-- "I need the monies."

He tapped his fingers against the counter, tilting his head and gave him a charming smile. "Now, what can I get you?"
