Itachi sat in a chair against the wall, opposite the bed. He watched, a faint frown turning down the corners of his lips. It had taken a struggle; a small struggle to get Sasuke over to his apartment, but one he was here, Itachi was satisfied.

"As I said, perhaps not, but still it is better then Sakura."

Dark eyes widened in realization at Deidara's words. Sasuke had forgotten that the blond was Chrome's roommate. He had spent a day at her place as he wasn't allowed to return to his own and going to Itachi's hadn't been an option either. At the time, he didn't particularly feel like going to his mountain hideaway and the younger girl had offered him a chance to stay. And he had taken it.

But now it was going to bite him back if Deidara told his brother everything about it.

He sat up quickly -- too quickly as once he did, his vision blurred and harsh coughs erupted. But even so, he tried to gesture to the blond to not say anything about it.

Deidara saw Sasuke sit up too quickly for his own good. He merely lifted the cup to his lips, lowering his one visible eye down at it.

"Whoa, slow down there cowboy. Wouldn't wanna hurt yourself un." So apparently Sasuke didn't want his big brother to know he had been over at his place? Huh...

...This could turn out to be a fun game

Itachi was on his feet as soon as Sasuke sat up, leading into his fit of coughs.

"You need to stay lying down, otouto," he said, pulling the blankets back up over him.

He sat up straight, looking up at Deidara, onyx eyes looking at him for a moment, watching, almost like he was reading him. He turned back to Sasuke, doing the same thing, but taking a little more time. His brother was a little harder to read then most.

"Well..?"

Laying back down, Sasuke tried to get his breathing under control as Itachi tucked him in. He didn't like that he was being treated like a child, but well. He would allow his brother this at the very least.

"It's nothing," he replied in a quiet voice so as to not strain his throat anymore than he already did.

"Yup." Deidara took another drink, before slowly pulling the cup away form his mouth, There was no hiding the sly smirk that had made it's way to his mouth. "It's nothing, Itachi~"

Deidara slipped from the bedroom, deciding to wait it out on the couch, Either Itachi would pull the answer form his brother, to come to him. He hoped he came to him for it, but Deidara wasn't going to hold his breath.

He took a seat on the couch.

He pressed his fingers to his forehead, closing his eyes for a moment. There was something, he could tell that much, only to be furthered proved by the smirk on Deidara's face.

Itachi sighed, glancing over at his brother. He didn't seem to want to talk about it, and with him being sick Itachi was not going to drag it from him. Deidara on the other hand was not sick.

"I'll be right back."

He was out the door and down the hall before Sasuke could protest.

"Deidara. Do tell me what is going on," he asked, standing over the blond.

Sasuke just watched his brother go, unable to do anything. He laid there, hoping the blond bomber wouldn't say a word about what had happened. Or more like blow the whole thing out of proportion.

Really, all he did was stay over for a day.

Chrome was a respectable girl that he could tolerate for a long period of time. And right then he was glad that Deidara didn't know that she had been his ring partner whom he'd kissed to get said ring off. Not to mention ate lunch together afterwards.

The younger Uchiha was lucky in that regard.
