The knock at the door caught his attention. Mukuro had been lounging about, not really motivated to do anything besides think since that didn't require any movement, unless one counted his brain. If he were perfectly honest, he still wasn't sure of what his answer would be, but he had said at the end of the week and it had been much longer than that. The illusionist could only guess at Naruto's patience at this point. Plus, there was the chance that an answer would come when he saw the blond. It was the final resort.

Getting up, clad in only a white shirt and pants -- the most he would dress down, even in this heat -- Mukuro headed to the door and opened it.

"Naruto-kun," he greeted with something of a strained smile, if only because of the hot air coming inside when the door opened. He moved to the side to allow the blond to come in.

Naruto was quick to come in even as Mukuro was moving out of the way. He closed the door quickly after himself, not wanting to let anymore hot air in than necessary.

"Hey dattebayo!" Naruto let out a soft sigh as the cooler air of the indoors hit him. He smiled faintly up at Mukuro--he was hot too. "Sorry it's so late, but..." Hell if he was going to be traveling during the day. He looked the older man over as he straightened up. "Saaaa. Aren't you hot in that get up dattebayo?" He gestured to Mukuro's shirt and pants.

"It's fine," Mukuro said, waving off the apology. The other had said that he would be stopping by some time later and no one really sane would be out and about in this heat ( ... )

Naruto removed his flip-flops at the doorway, padding over after him as he made his way into the kitchen after the dark-haired man. "Ah, no, not at all dattebayo! I mean, the weather sucks, but I actually felt a lot better after moving around." Which was true. He had been lazing about throwing up ramen and dairy products. After finally consuming some fruit and veggies (nasty stuff, that celery, but okay with the peanut butter, he had to admit), he felt a lot better. He could deal with the heat more, and his food actually stayed in his stomach.

Stupid Sasuke for being right about the ramen.

"How have you been? Everyone else is complaining about how bad the heat is dattebayo..." Naruto watched Mukuro pour the water into glasses for them.

Mismatched eyes blinked, more for the latter words than the former. It had just been decided that he would give this relationship a start and already Naruto was asking that? He supposed the other was anxious enough as is.

As he drained the noodles, Mukuro thought about it. There was little doubt that if he agreed then the blond would possibly tell his friends of it. Or even the whole network. Was he willing to have a weakness exposed (and at this point, he did consider Naruto a weakness on his part)? If he thought about it, Chrome was a weakness for him and there was really no question about their relationship.

Would this be different, as they were in an... intimate relationship?

"If you would like, I don't mind." He would take his chances, like he always did.

Naruto felt his lips lift up, before turning into an all-out grin.

"Well, I know Lavi would want to know why I'm acting so ridiculously happy dattebayo. And Neji." And probably Sasuke, maybe. And what about Gaara, and...

The blond watched the water being drained from the noodles.

"...I've never done something like this dattebayo, so..." The sixteen-year-old leaned into the corner some more--there was no questioning he was eyeing the noddles hungrily. "...If you think I'm being too, er... I dunno. Just tell me, okay? If this is going to work, we have to communicate dattebayo."

And Naruto would certainly communicate, alright. Unless, of course, some insecurity or another kept him from doing so.

"Oya."

So he was the first? That was a little surprising. With the blond's personality, he was sure that there were others before. But now knowing this little tidbit piqued his curiosity. This would be an interesting venture.

"I take it those are your friends," Mukuro responded, as he finished preparing the pasta. "But rest assured that I will let you know should something be wrong." He would never admit it, but this was his first relationship in this lifetime. After previous ones, well. He would rather not think about those certain times of his life.

Minutes later the pasta was finished, him serving it on a plate to the blond. "I hope you approve."

"I gather that much is obvious, Naruto-kun."

And once more he was just that bit more surprised by the blond. Would they ever cease? No, probably not, his mind supplied for him.

No one had ever considered his comfort before, because he never showed his discomfort in regards to certain things. However, it was true that he normally didn't allow anyone close to him, unless he knew their intentions. There were few exceptions, such as Chrome and Ritsuka, but very rarely were there any. He and Naruto may be together now, but that wasn't reason enough to completely throw away his instincts around the younger male. And even if it weren't the blond, it was near impossible to do.

Mukuro finished his cup and placed it on the table. "Assumptions will always be made, regardless of whether or not they should be," he stated, a fact he lived with. He glanced at Naruto. "They are my reason for being here at this moment."

"Then I should be thankful dattebayo, ne?"

The blond looked up at Mukuro, tapping gently on the cup with the fingers that barely peeked out from beneath Mukuro's shirt.

"But now you know. I am very comfortable, dattebayo, about you, and myself. And yeah, assumptions are usually made regardless, but that's human nature. But my nature is to be trusting, and inquisitive. But..."

Naruto finished off his cup of tea.

"...I am comfortable in sharing a bed with you, and would be, even if we did not have a relationship. One, because we do, I would like to spend the night with you, in your bed, while at your house dattebayo. And two..."

He looked over at the window, before back at Mukuro with a slight, pouting face on.

"It's really cold, dattebayo. And an extra body for warmth along wiht all those blankets would be great."

A soft sigh managed to escape along with a smile that showed his concede to defeat, something that he didn't particularly liked, but his saving grace was that this wasn't a life or death battle that he had to win.

Mukuro moved closer to Naruto, hand coming up to tilt the other's face upward as he bent his head. There was a deep, low chuckle before he replied. "If that is what you want, then who am I to deny it from you." He lightly tapped Naruto's lips before stepping away. "I can only assume things until we know each other better. I ask that you also keep that in mind."

Another smile, sheepishly amused. "But really Naruto-kun, you should watch what you say. Words are words, but it's the way they are interpreted that create misunderstanding."

"Eh?" Naruto looked down the hall, wondering which room was Mukuro's before glancing back at the man. His face was flushed again, he knew it... but with the cold? Hard to tell. But the way the older man moved, touched him... the confusion they would happen upon in their relationship?

To him, it made it all worth it.

"Watch what I say? What am I saying that's so confusing dattebayo?" He paused before continuing, "And tell me! Don't say that 'you'll see' or, 'you'll figure it out someday' crap dattebayo! If I don;t know, how am I supposed to correct it?"
