i've just been reading articles in the globe and mail lately about bush's sinking approval ratings. it seems like it's become a lot more fashionable to oppose w.'s administration these days, that's all. i think maybe it's easier to bash a second-term president. in their first term maybe you don't wanna be too hard on them cause you're still holding out hope that they'll reform and you can feel good about voting for them again. but second term you know they're on their way out anyway so maybe you feel better telling yourself how crappy they are, like you're better off without them. though, personally, i think this is the case in the u.s. my two cents.

i thought you were saying that more of the public was on board with the government, and i wondered where that was coming from, because i (and from your reply, you) don't find that to be the case at all. with performances in the final term stacked against the last (or hell, freestanding) it's pretty difficult, even for a republican, to hold up a case in favour. esp when so much of the population was already leaning away after term 1. i'm from a tiny-tiny conservative town, everybody is a republican, everybody supports the republican cantidate regardless of who he is, because he is republican. when i go home now, it's incredible the percentage of these people who opposes the current administration.
anyhow, our two (+ two so four) cents are the same.
