Last things first. I owe the internet a post about Barcelona, and maybe two posts about All Tomorrow's Parties curated by the Breeders. All fun times items

I think Mr Botain is telling the truth. I LOVED my old job and was good at it and was proud of myself for climbing the ladder of telly where I could do it BUT I still wasn't really happy. I was bored! I honestly think I need to try and connect whatever I do next to helping other people in some way - that's what my old job was lacking in massively. I think this might be the secret.
I also think that for some people (ie people like us) there will always be loads of things we want to do, even when we've done millions and we're ninety eight. I think this is a good thing, it keeps us going, it keeps life full of fun and wanting what's around the corner (while hopefully still appreciated what we have in the present) x
Aw I love your replies to my posts! Always with the encouraging words :D
I really hope your funding comes through! It's something apart from writing that you really love, and actually might help you focus on writing what *you* want to write.
Yeah it is good in some ways to be so mental about being busy all the time. I don't even do it on fragging purpose. I just, like nature, abhor a vacuum. Not that I don't heart spending time on my own. I do. To the maxx.
i definitely think that finishing your studies will end up being positive for you. you've put so much into it already - i think it's just really hard getting back into it once you're out of the habit. but achieving the qualification at the end will make you feel good and also it's ace that your work is something useful for your job as well. sometimes i felt really depressed doing marketing-related reports for my course that i knew no one would ever actually need to use! xxx
