(does it make you feel old? I think, were my sister closer to normal, that I would certainly feel old now if she had kids)

If it makes sense, the shock is more that she's managed to settle down and start a family than any age thing. For years she would go off and have some adventure, then come back absolutely broke begging my parents for a place to stay till she got back on her feet again to embark on some other crazy adventure. So the idea that she's got a husband and kid and will never again shack up in our basement is still a jolt to me.
