"Avengers" was awesome!

Awesome movie of awesomeness. The characters I liked best were probably Tony Stark (as usual, I LOVE him....*blushes*) and Hulk! Yeah, Hulk was awesome :) Other than that, I'm feeling a bad pressure again because on May 30th I will have the next Kanji test I have to study 200 new Kanji for. And...well, I should study more overall...I'd like to take ( Read more... )

I'll be cheering for you with the Kanji! I sort of got stuck with my own Japanese learning because of them :/ Need to do something about that one day.

I am super excited for the Avengers and waiting for the release here. I wish DC would get their shit together and give us a Justice League, Teen Titans or Young Justice movie...

Well, I also was stuck on studying them for the 6 years I learned Japanese on my own before going to university. I always pushed myself to study them and after a few weeks couldn't anymore because nobody gave a damn if I did it or not. In university it's better because we got tests and have to be able to read the stuff. If nobody's looking at what you're studying it becomes a few times harder to actually do it, I know that very well -.-

Well, at least Marvel did a very good Avengers movie ^^ It's enough to satisfy my Tony Stark fangirl batteries for a year xD And better a good movie which takes time to make than a bad movie...I would for instance say that the Captain America movie was far too rushed.

Definitely true. Having an incentive like a test helps. I used to learn Japanese at a course (which was actually rather good) but then not long after we got seriously into kanji I went to university (to study English) and the classes collided with the hours of the course :/ I ought to pick up that course again or something...

I actually haven't seen Captain America. I was sad to miss it but I didn't have time back when it was on here. I'll have to catch up at some point.

When did you become a Tony fan? Because of the Ironman films or the comics (or cartoons?) :)

There are people who didn't go to a Japanese course before starting to study Japanology...and I think they have a really hard time trying to keep up xD
But a course really helped some people I know ^^

Aah, but Captain America was important to understand the plot of the Avengers movie xO
Nah, I never saw a cartoon episode. That was broadcasted a generation earlier I think. Sadly just from the movies xD I don't even know where to read comics (without buying them xD)
I think I became a fan because of his personality in the movie and because he is just a normal person with the right equipment :) (and backround)

Is English primary a cultural study? (where you study it).
For instance some people mistake Japanology for a language study...but you have to study the culture equally. A lot of students quit once they realize this xD
