Yes, I was there! Where were YOU? I was in some corner on the second floor! My God, the people I sat with! I mean, they were generally friendly folks, but when the food was gone and it was time to go, GEEZ, you should have seen them.

"No, thanks," they said when the waiters distributed the takeout boxes for us to bring leftovers home. "Good night!" And they waved cheerily at us before gliding over to the other tables and stealing other unused takeout boxes and shoveling other people's leftovers in them.

According to my mom, she knew some of the folks there, but the people at our table were strangers. Weird thing, though, because they all turned out to be from the same region as my family, and one of the guys had the same name as my dad, and he knew someone else from the first floor with the same name as my grandfather.
