I got a gift certificate to my neighbor's knitting store. (I'd never been there, but I had cable hooks on my christmas list because I wanna try doing some new things with patterns and stuffs.) So far I'm pretty good at mittens, and I'm working on a scarf but I don't really care when I finish it, and I haven't been watching as much TV lately so it's taking foreeever. ^_^; I'm using it to experiment and learn how to do stuff. Any tips/suggestions for reading for a newbie knitter? <3 lol.
My mom was thrilled at her 'hobo mitts' I made her for xmas. (She always complains that her hands are cold at work.) Apparently everyone else wants some too because they all have the same problem. (To which I'm thinking, YAY, that's easy, it's like mittens only not finished!)
I don't know that I'll ever be the knitting fiend that you are, though. :)
I've never learned to crochet... I stole my mom's copy of "Knitting/Crocheting for Dummies" (or was it Idiot's Guide to? Can't remember) and haven't gotten to the crochet section yet. ^^;

I have NO idea what to suggest for reading; I'm pretty much self-taught. I'd have to ask my mom for help on that front. O_o

Ok. :) I just thought I'd ask, just in case. I need to go in the store anyway, and she lives right across the street so if I do need help I know where I can go now, I suppose. ^^;

Yeah, they're mittens without the thumbs, that go up to the knuckles. I think I'll haveta make me a pair for myself eventually, I kept wearing them after I finished the one pair. They don't really take all that long either, I'm just lazy. ^^;
