Trawled through both Transformers categories on ff.net tonight. Over ninety percent of the fanfics are Mary Sues. (In this, I include the "What if Sam was a girl?" works, because I'm pretty sure none of them have "Samantha" as an unpopular, awkward skateboarding lesbian with a crush on Mikaela. Which I totally need to write someday

LOL we should come out with GOODfanfiction.net and have like a board of directors for each fandom who choose which fics are postable. ie: yes, ocs, no mary sues. Full sentences! etcetc

save for a couple of authors who only post on ff.net, it is what has me mostly on Ao3 these days.

i think all the decent writers abandoned ship on ff.net and migrated to AO3. maybe. could be that we're all having Real Lives while the perpetual teenagers just keep churning out the same drivel in the hopes of scoring a "50 Shades of Grey" type book deal.

Lol! Do you even need to ask? A better question would be how long ago did they get away with it. Not that Transformers is the only fandom to suffer this fate. Not by a long shot, I'm afraid. :p
