**written in the wee hours of the morning. forgive poor grammar and spelling plskthx.My mom asked me on Sunday night what I was going to be doing after 4 months. And well, quite honestly, I didn't really know. I plan on applying to Humber for Graphic Design but because I don't have a portfolio ready yet, I don't think I can apply for Sept 2011 ( Read more... )

good luck with everything!

I hope to be in Toronto next year, but I guess I'll see.

Since you mentioned the JLPT, how did you do?

Thanks, Michelle! If you do end up taking Teacher's College in Toronto, maybe we can meet up and do karaoke! \o/

JLPT went well, haha. I only took 3-kyuu and according to Iwai-sensei, 3rd year Japanese students should be able to easily pass the test, and I did. They've changed the level system now so that the level I took is now n4 (out of 5) and n3 is somewhere in between the old 3-kyuu and 2-kyuu so I may consider taking that if I keep studying. I need to find classes or something though 'cos self-study is not gonna work for me, lol. x_x;

Happy New Year's!

Sometimes I forget to respond to things, but then it always sticks in the back of my mind that I should, and then I forget again. ;>>

Anyways, glad you did well on your test! Currently, I'm contemplating whether or not to join an intermediate Korean proficiency test class or to do the speaking class. It's the difference between fun class where I can hang out with Wendy afterwards or painful class at a weird time but one that'll help me get a piece of paper that says I have achieved a certain level of Korean profiency (and thusly make me feel accomplished). But once you get up to certain levels, it's really helpful to take a prep class I think. ;>o<

And yeah let's do karaoke if I move to Toronto (even if I don't, but certainly if I do!)

ohhh late comment but here's my two cents:

OCAD's design program is pretty good! my GD teacher teachers there too and she's reallllly awesome, and I know a few people who go there and all have good things to say about it. However the environment is way more pretentious/artsy/hipsterish than the rest of your choices, this could be good or bad.

but in terms of quality of program I think the joint York/Sheridan program takes the top (even if it is expensive and you have to commute) It's a cut-throat competitive program which I think is needed for the industry. Everyone I know who attends there has a really high/professional quality of the work and most of the student award-winning design work comes out of there as well.

the other colleges I have no real opinions on because nobody I know ever talks about them lol

Yeah, after thinking about it for a long while, I've come to the point that I'd rather spend an extra year to get a second degree than spend 3 and get a diploma/certificate instead.

Location-wise, OCAD is just so convenient though, haha. York is in the middle of nowhere. D: But yeah, all the student work that I've seen come out of there is excellent and I'm hoping to achieve that level of quality in work by the time I finish my degree as well.

I'll definitely be applying to York and if I am good enough to be accepted, I'll figure things out from there, lol.

Thanks for the insight! That helped a lot, haha.
