A/N: This is the continuation/sequel of my first fic. “Fragile”, you don't need to read it to understand this one but it may be helpful. I started this over a year ago and now I’m back to it, in a nutshell Dr. Reid Oliver and Luke Snyder have been in a relationship just over three months and are heading to London, England together. As usual I’ve added a few new characters into the mix just to make it interesting and because I can.

Chapter #5
“Reid!” Katie squealed as she launched herself on the unsuspecting red head.
“My god Katie you could call all the dog’s in the neighbourhood with that pitch,” Reid told her wincing and trying to get the hearing back in his ear by wiggling his finger in it.
“Shut-up,” she told him punching him in the shoulder.
“Hey, if I wanted abuse I would’ve gone to Al’s and let Henry go after me,” Reid replied rubbing his shoulder.
“So sorry baby,” Katie cooed kissing his cheek and pulling him over to a table where Jacob played with Thomas trains.
“Hey squirt, how are you?” Reid said to Jacob as he mussed his dark blonde hair.
Serious brown eyes looked up at him, “Hi,” he said shyly, at Reid and then picked up a train, “This is Percy,” he told Reid,” Do you like him Uncle Reid?” as he gave him the green wooden train, Reid smiled and nodded as Jacob continued, “He and Thomas are friends.”
“Hey bud I don’t think Reid would remember that,” Katie told him with a chuckle.
Reid looked over at Katie and tapped his head, “Photographic memory and reading from that huge Thomas the Tank Engine story book I gave you at Christmas,” Reid smiled in return, and Katie remembered Reid telling her that Luke helped him pick out the book and some trains for Jacob.
Katie’s smile widened, “He’s so good for you, and you for him.”
“Who Jacob, he’s just a kid and doesn’t know any better,” Reid replied purposely misunderstanding Katie.
“You know that I mean Luke, dummy,” Katie said in exasperation.
“Mommy you just said a bad word,” Jacob pointed out.
“Yes mommy,” Reid replied with a smirk.
“Stop it Oliver,” Katie chided,” So you’re really doing this?” she said wistfully her eyes with that dreamy look,” I couldn’t have done it better myself and I’ve done some pretty good matchmaking.”
“Like Henry and Vienna! No thanks, I did just fine on my own blondie,” Reid replied with a chuckle, “I was just my charming self and Luke couldn’t resist me,” he teased.
“Yeah right, you two didn’t hit if off that well from what I’ve heard,” Katie answered with a knowing look and then asked with a grin,” So when did you start to like Luke?”
Reid ducked his head and actually blushed as he replied, “Uhm, the second or third time I laid eyes on him.”
“Really!” Katie squealed again in surprise.
Reid winced in response and nodded hid head, “I think it was when he kissed me that second time I saw him,” he admitted, “Damn can that guy kiss,” he murmured to himself.
“Luke kissed you first?” Katie asked in shock, “Really!”
“Yeah, long story short, he’s hot, I’m hot and we’re together,” Reid told Katie honestly and he’d never been happier.
“Good for you guys, I’m so happy for both of you,” she sighed, tears filling her eyes.
“Hey, listen when you’re ready Katie or when you least expect it someone will come into your life,” Reid told her seriously picking up her hand and squeezing it gently.
“Hey, I have my man, Jacob, he's all I need, and my friends and the rest of my family,” she replied bravely, but her voice shook a little.
“Let’s just say I’m happy that you and Doogie Hughes didn’t work out. He’s no way good enough for you,” Reid grabbed her hand again and spoke firmly.
Katie nodded and then whispered, “He’s back in Africa and I hear he’s married a nurse he’s been working with,” Katie said with more force and sat up straighter.
Reid nodded and let go of her hand and gave Jacob more goldfish crackers to crush with his trains.
“Come in,” Luke called when he heard the knock on his office door. He was just finishing up with the final details and packing up his laptop computer.
“Hey Luke, do you have a few minutes?” Gabriel Caras asked as he poked his head through the door he had opened.
“Oh, hi Gabriel, yeah come on in,” Luke said watching the dark haired young man come in, he was looking a little nervous, “What can I do for you?” Luke asked trying to put him at ease.
“Uhm, I’m sure you’ve heard about Jade and I and the baby,” Gabriel began and then rushed to continue, “I really love her Luke and I can’t believe she just took off like that,” he told Luke hurt and anger in his voice.
“Come on Gabriel, you’ve been with Jade for months you know how she can be. She’s terrified, everyone she’s tried to have a relationship with has left or died, I know that sounds harsh but she has trust issues and so do you,” Luke told him honestly, he knew Gabriel’s history and when the son of Craig Montgomery got the niece of Lily Walsh pregnant, Lucinda Walsh was not happy.
“Jade how could you?” Lucinda had said when she first started out with Gabriel, “I was just beginning to like you.”
Jade had snorted in disbelief, “Yeah sure.”
“Well I’ve come up with a plan and I just wanted you to know,” Gabriel began, “I’m heading to London with you and Dr. Oliver tomorrow. I’ve been accepted as an engineering design intern with the company that’s building your new wing.”
“Wow Gabriel that’s great, I knew you were studying design engineering but I didn’t realize that they offered those kinds of programs,” Luke told him in surprise.
“Yeah they have work terms every two semesters and as long as it’s in my field of study I can go wherever I want to fulfill the credit,” Gabriel explained,” And since the company has offices in the US and Europe I can use them.”
“Does Jade know you’re coming?” Luke asked carefully.
“No, I wanted to just show up and try and work things out before the baby is born,” Gabriel admitted to Luke.
“You’ll have to work fast,” Luke replied with a smile,” Where are you staying?” he asked knowing full well that Reid wouldn’t want anyone with them.
“Lucy invited me to stay with her and her boyfriend,” Gabriel replied, “I think you know him.”
“Yeah I do, Dr. Donal O’Sullivan,” Luke replied with a sigh of relief that he was staying with Lucy.
“Well I better be going, I’ll see you tomorrow Luke,” Gabriel said as he left the office.
“Hey Hank, how’s it going?” Reid called putting his hand up to fight off the glare of Henry’s magenta and turquoise striped shirt with a tangerine tie, “Good lord Hank, do you ever look in a mirror!”
“I will have you know that my ever stylish wife Barbara, thinks I look hot in this shirt,” Henry shot back, giving Reid an affectionate look.
“To each his own Hank, to each his own,” Reid replied settling into a booth.
“Will you be dining alone today?” Henry asked and then suddenly added, “Why are you here?”
The bell rang above the door as Luke walked in brushing the snow flakes out of his hair, “Nope, I won’t Hank,” Reid replied and then got up as Luke came over and gave him a deep kiss.
Henry stood opened mouthed at the exchange, he’d not been around in December, he and Barbara had taken an extended holiday in Europe.
When Reid finally released Luke, Luke looked at Reid, “What was that for?” and Reid gestured towards Henry and his gaping stare, “Uhm, I guess you know my boyfriend Dr. Oliver?” Luke stated his eyes twinkling.
Henry’s mouth stayed open like a fish and then closed and opened a few times before he finally pushed out, “How, how did you ever get together with Dr. Evil? He quarantined me once for no reason and then wouldn’t help me with a broken hand!”
“It was just a sprain Hank, and you deserve to be quarantined for your bad taste in wardrobe,” Reid replied with a smirk.
Luke laughed at the absurdity of the conversation and explained to Henry how he and Reid had met in Dallas.
“So you’re going to London with him?” Henry asked he had sat down beside Luke to hear the story and the waitress had taken their orders and brought their food.
“Yep, I’m going to follow Luke and help out as he builds the new wing,” Reid told Henry, finishing off his fries and second chocolate shake.
“And you want him to go with you?” Henry asked Luke incredulously.
“Uh-huh, he’s following me this time and I plan to follow him next time,” Luke told Henry seriously, picking up Reid’s hand and entwining their fingers.
Henry watched the exchange and got up shaking his head in disbelief, he turned back once and pointed a finger at Reid, “You better take care of him, us Oakdalian’s watch over our own.”
Reid smiled and replied, “No worries Hank, no worries.”
Luke chuckled and then gazed into those beautiful blue eyes dancing with mirth, “You really know how to get Henry worked up don’t you?”
Reid smirked in response, “It’s just so easy and so much fun.”
“And you just love to tease don’t you Oliver,” Luke replied huskily.
“Uhm, hmm, so when do we need to be ready for this shindig at Lucinda’s?” Reid asked his eyes darkening.
“We have a few hours,” Luke replied, with a grin and licked his bottom lip and then caught it in his teeth.
“Good, check please!” Reid called and got up pulling Luke up by the hand.
