Title: Score!

Notes: Written for saiyuki_time challenge #18, Games. Time allowed: 20 minutes; actual time: 35 or so. The concept was simple enough, but the execution got more complicated than I expected.

Hakkai returned his glance warmly and with a little twitch of the eyebrow that promised good times later on in their room.

That was pretty much my favorite line of the entire thing, haha. That said, I really liked the way this flowed - especially the sense of 'is it a game or not?' that drifted in and out of the words.

Very nice. I love Protective!Hakkai, looking out for his Kappa - I found that very sweet (and speaking of sweet, I now want toffee apples. I have a recipe for them, but it sounds like a pain in the ass to make).

I have a feeling that Gojyo's going to get his head handed to him when he gets upstairs, though! But he meant well ... .

Are they the Chinese toffee apples - the ones where the apples are sliced up, coated in hot syrup, and then dunked in ice water to make the syrup harden into a crunchy shell? Becauase that's what I was visualizing for this.

Oh, now you just have to write the follow up exchange between Gojyo and Hakkai... since it' is Hakkai month, it would be only fitting.

Yep, those are the apples I'm thinking of... and now I want them again. grr...
