... Wow, that was really something else. There's a lot of lines that sun up nicely how Hakkai thinks without stating it explicitly;
He didn't do anything in the house for a whole week. It was pointless.
"Are you growing a beard?" Sanzo asked, one day.
Gojyo was out, luckily, otherwise explaining why he was on his knees on the kitchen floor making bloody handprints would've made them both even more uncomfortable.
Gojyo was amazingly done, too, especially at the end;
"Time for a change," Gojyo said, looking back to the sink. His hair hung in lank red strings around his jaw. "Thought it was my turn to look after you."
You made him really sweet and considerate, which is how I think he would be anyway, but especially when he noticed Hakkai's decline. Brilliantly done, and going straight into my memories!
I really like that you're exploring the idea that everything wasn't perfectly smooth after things became less strained between them after the youkai gang incident. I can really see this being a bit of canon.
Very, very nice. It was bittersweet, but kind of warm and fuzzy at the same time. I love the idea of Gojyo taking the initiative to take care of Hakkai when he needed it. ^____^ That made me smile.
This was just beautiful - a lovely look at Hakkai, and also at Gojyo, honestly. I love the image of him at the sink, his sweet, honest but awkward attempt at helping. Very nicely done.
