and yet somehow it manages to do the most harm; somehow it manages to unravel him in a ways nothing else could.

This whole fic really brings home the sense of loss that Gojun feels at the departure of his comrades; it's clear that he had loved them all dearly, and that he feels impotent in the face of the unfairness of their treatment. That he goes looking for them for solace knowing that they are gone is the saddest part of all. *runs away and cries* Thnak you for such a lovely fic!
