Notes: For challenge #68: Bloom. I put this aside for a week before coming back to it. (My apologies for posting so late! I waffled about joining the comm, but I'm really glad I did.) Time taken: 45 minutes, plus ten for editing.

I'm sure whatever the flowers are, they'll be exotic and pretty! (I just can't see Hakkai going around with, say, daisies all over his body.)

It's funny. I wrote this, and then a few hours later, while wandering the internet, I came across a story with a similar concept...except Hakkai's vines had fruited? It was hilarious and heartbreaking at the same time (what with the fruits being, technically, his children.) I guess we're not the only ones wondering about the nature of the vines.

What with all the running around and the roadtrip and stuff, I don't think Hakkai ever had the time to really integrate his two selves. (I can be a sucker for a happy ending, and I think something like this would really be as good as it can get for him.)

Plus, the vines? Probably excellent tools for yanking up lots weeds all at once.

The mucus are eating my brain away and I can't think too clearly, but I wanted to say that I liked this. I've read several fics where 58 come back and plant a garden, but this took a different approachment on the topic, a very interesting one. I liked your voices, by the way, and the idea of Hakkai's vines blooming. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you! It seems like a natural conclusion to me, for them to come back from the journey and try to do something normal in the face of all the abnormal things they've experienced.
