11. Do you read AUs?
Absolutely.
12. List a few of your favorite AUs.
These will be related to BBC's Sherlock since that's pretty much all I'm reading right now. There's Teenlock, Unilock, Parentlock, Translock, Coffeeshop AU, Boarding School AU, and others that don't come to mind at the moment.
13. What type of AUs are your favorites? Give a general description.
Again, mostly to do with BBC's Sherlock.
I love Parentlock, in which Sherlock is a parent (mostly with John, sometimes on his own, sometimes with another character); and then Kid/Teen/Unilock, in which Sherlock and co. are kids/teens/university students. Boarding School AU I love because I'm a big fan of Hana-Kimi.
14. What makes you give up on reading a fic?
Terrible spelling/grammar and odd or confusing wording, as they make things hard to read. If I was hoping for one story and then the fic suddenly veers off into a completely unexpected direction. Really extreme OOC-ness and things and situations being too unrealistic to the point of absurdity. Also if something happens that's really offensive that'll get me to stop. Also if the story is just bad I won't continue reading.
15. What makes you pick up a fic, what makes it sound interesting?
I'll read nearly anything, so if the summary sounds like something I'd like to read I'll read it. I pick my fanfictions the same way I pick my books: based on my interests and likes. Also if I read and liked I'll sometimes read the other fics the author wrote.
