Hello, again!
Last time I brought out quite the chibi collection. But that's not all I do. Here's some of my non-chibi artwork:
Based on the song
ベストフレンド (Best Friend) Translation of my horrible attempt at Japanese:
'It's okay.'
"Sh-Shiryu!"
'I'm glad.'
Shiryu is actually my favourite of the Bronzies, though you wouldn't know it by the amount I draw him. Of course, now that I've drawn him all bleeding and angst-full, I know I'm going to draw him like this again. One of my favourite scenes is where Shiryu destroys his eyesight in order to defeat the Perseus Saint and save Seiya. (What is with Kurumada and eyes?) Obviously that inspired me to this, even though they're obviously not in either their cloths or an anime style.
Sketched in this little handmade, recycled- paper notebook I found. It gives an interesting texture to my drawings when I use it. I did a gradient overlay in Photoshop to make the lines colorful, since my dA and y! galleries are perpetually gray.
Valentine’s day, 2007. Glitter everywhere!
Hyoga and Shun, because I like them as fluffy as Valentine's are supposed to be. Watercolors and actual glitter, though my scanner didn’t like it. Amusingly enough, the pink-and-green-and-white colour of glitter I used is called 'Diamond Dust.' I remember that my professor couldn't figure out why I was cracking up the entire time I poured it. XD
The marker comp of a painting I was working on from June 2007. This will be an acrylic painting. (Yes, I’m still working on it even now! I’m slow, and life doesn’t help…) I need to highlight a little more for backlighting, but it's not an interacting background, so I could get away with not doing it. Ikki is just so cool! Really, I just wanted to try my hand at drawing a dynamic sort of pose (at the time), and he just took over from there. Shaka's prayer beads are there, because I really like the pairing. I put a phoenix in the background for his constellation, as well as a chain to symbolize his little brother's sign. He's also wearing the rosary he took from Hyoga.
“He was seven when his brother died, a traitor to Sanctuary and to Athena. But in his dreams Aioros was still the good, strong and kind saint that Aiolia remembered, and it didn't matter what nightmares might await him in dark or in light. For each night as he slept, the young Leo Knight would ride with his brother amongst the stars.”
What is it about Saint Seiya that makes me want to paint? It must be because it is such a romantic story, even when the modern concept of romance isn't involved! This idea caught onto my brain and refused to let go. The original sketch and the simplified ink are both done by me. The beautiful colour version was done by
krakatoa over on y!Gallery, with conté crayon, pastels, gel pen, and glitter. I kinda want to draw her a cute bunnyboy or something for being awesome.

Well! That’s all the decent old stuff I’m going to post here. I know there’s more Saint Seiya on my
y!Gallery or
my deviantArt but they’re all either waaaaaaaaay old or going to be redone/finished and posted at a later date. So tata for now! I’ve got some watercolours calling my name! When I get my scanner back, I’ll be sure to show you what I’ve got.
