2) There's a ton of irony attached to Kaiser. Once upon a time, it was one of the earliest HMOs, back when the point was getting people the care they needed efficiently, not banning them from getting care. *sigh*
Call someone in your HR department and see if your benefits administrator can help. Sometimes they can talk sense into people -- they are after all the client.
Thanks, I wasn't thinking clearly yesterday and would never have thought to try that. I have an appointment with the doctor today, if it winds up being run around and red tape I'll contact our HR guy and see if he can get anything done.
United did the same thing to me... we ended up paying for it. I thought I was doing a good thing seeking medical attention seeing as I was pregnant at the time. Guess they thought differently.
Funny how insurance is supposed to make you want to visit the doctor more often to stay healthy, but it winds up having the opposite effect because they're cheap-ass tighwads when it comes to actual coverage.
