The Difference Between Medicine and Poison is the Dose

Today at like 11:30 am, I was talking to a good friend of mine and he told me that Virginia Tech had another shooting. I was like "are you sure?" and he said "yeah there's one dead and they have the shooter in custody." I thought "wheeew that's not too scary." I go to lunch at 12:30 pm with my mom at this really awesome chinese resturaunt. She was ( Read more... )

I was wondering, are the LSM people at VTech from the same region as you? I can't remember but when I was involved there was a rep. from VTech and she brought Hokie slippers to our gift exchange in Chicago. I knew she has since graduated but I still know "our people" attend schools there. We recently had a student murder at UI, and it is linked to a murder of a Boise State student and a wounded student in Arizona.

I was on tenterhooks as I received an email from my sorority's International Headquarters saying everyone was accounted for except one woman. Luckily they found her.

I am not too sure honestly. I know that we chill with a few of the kids who are trying to start things over at George Masson University.

I have an odd feeling that LSM is over at VT. I'll probably find out more tomorrow evening. I know that here on the university we're having a huge day of prayer.

They are the next region down. I think I was confused because DC & Maryland are MALSM, but VA is next to DC. My boss is on our local church council, and two of the lawyers I work with are big time Lutherans, so I think I will suggest we send something to the campus ministry so they can help students who may just wander in, or heaven forbid we lost one from our flock. I bet we could get people to give a dollar and buy some Pizza Hut gift cards so they can have food on hand for when people wander in. I just can't think of anything else to do.

That's a pretty great idea. I think we're putting together care packages or something to send to them next week. I'll find out more this week at our meeting. Last week was really messed up. On top of the whole thing with VT, our chaplan Pastor Beth was in the hospital. She's doing better now, thank goodness. I do believe she's home now, but still it's been craziness.
