Love this one "I can’t hate you for being weak," I think this is the first time I see this response on a fic. A perfect statement for such a sorrowful moment.
In my mind, Shion told him that because he thought Saga was going to kill him, so he didn't suspect Saga was going to kill himself. But I guess it could work the other way too. :)
Oh, no! Ididn't mean it like that! I did like it! And the fic makes sense...instead of guilt taking over at the end of sanctuary battles, it wins over before evil can completely take over. My comment was directed to Shion's taking of Saga's misery. If you're the Pope and one of your gold saints crawls into your room in such turmoil (and ends up killing himself, on top of it) it seems a bit harsh to call him weak.
Hehehe! I did understand you liked it because of your comments about Saga, so don't worry. ^^
About Shion's comment, this is what I had in mind: Shion was sure that Saga was there to kill him, so he talks about being weak in the sense that Saga's evil side has won. (In the past I wrote a version of this event with Shion's POV, where there was this idea of weakness too.) But since it's a 'what if' fic, there's a twist in the story, one that Shion hadn't anticipated: Saga takes his own life to prevent all the misery.
And this 'hatred' Saga speaks of, refers to the idea that Saga knows that Shion thinks he's there to kill him. Er... I'm not sure if I'm making any sense, sorry. ^^;
I could have included Shion's reaction but since it was in Saga's POV... But I can assure you Shion would have been more than mildly surprised. ;)
