She'd gone after Murphy once she had heard the commotion start downstairs. She had beaten against the door, rubbing her hands raw, screaming for anyone to answer.

Then the door had opened.

Instinct had made her turn to Murphy's room and she could see people within.

"Murphy?" she half-gasped, half yelled once she reached the door frame, seeing Connor's still body on the bed. "What the fuck is going on?"

"Was an invasion going on downstairs." Josh's voice, even rougher than normal. "He was trying to get Connor to a safer spot. Didn't quite work out."

"Josh?" Almost rhetorical--she'd never forget that voice or set of mannerisms.

She checks over Connor, noting that his wounds have apparently been treated. "Invasion? Who?"

"No fucking idea, really. One second, it's the usual group down there, the next...."

Reaching over to brush a few strands of hair from Connor's face. "Damned idiot's probably going to see this as proof he did the right thing pushing him away."
