Oh wow, that was just fabulous. I love how you wove the scenes from At World's End through this story. Those parts were so bittersweet but some of my favorites. And the ending was wonderfully dramatic.
I was shaking. I was making a squeaking noise at the back of my throat. I was unblinking. I read the last four words and gasped. In fact, I'd curse loudly - yes, in capitals - but I know more restraint than that. And now my face is wet :'). I'll say it again:
This is the ultimate fixit fic. Your characterization of James is pitch perfect in this scene. For some reason I especially liked "You love-" I don't know why but those two little words were just so *James.*
I have no words, one of the best, if not the best, Norribeth fic ever. This chapter was the best. Write something else please. I think the way you imagined his thoughts and deeds is exactly how it would be. Though it may be blasphemy here, I always thought being rejected by her and becoming a fall down drunk for a while actually improved his character. He became more of a man and lost that hautiness through pain.
Thanks for the ending, this is so true to canon, I didn't know how it would end, but I'm so happy they married.
Okay, so I had some words afterall. :) Thanks for an accurate and real James. This was marvelous. Now get back to work. I expect to see something new soon. ;)
I... really could not have imagined this kind of reception. Thank you SO much. That's, I think about the hugest compliment I've ever gotten. EVER. Because I read your fics and go 'Wow, this is some of the best fanfiction I have ever read.' I was happy when you even started reading my humble fic. xD
I don't think that it's blasphemy at all. It's part of his character that's always been there. He stifled it so thoroughly that when it finally escaped it basically took over his life. By the time AWE rolls along (if he ever rids himself of his guilt complex xD), he's kind of attained a bit more balance.
And you are most welcome for the ending. I'm glad they're married too. ^^ Thanks so much again, and I /will/ get back to work! -salute- I have another idea in the works, but it's in the very early stages, so I might just have to throw out some oneshots to pacify everyone until I can figure out what I'm doing next. xD

Thank you! I kind of like the split-narrative part too. It gives a bit of a neat twist on the story, I think.
And I'm glad you like the ending! Norribeth ftw. It would have simply been too depressing if it didn't end like that. xDDD

You reaction... is definitely AMAZING. <3 I feel really special now. I'm so glad it went over so well.
Aww, I'm sorry if I made you cry. ;-;
Hahah, and thanks for restraining yourself. xD But feel free to type pretty much anything else in capitals that you want to!

I'm glad James seems in character. That's one of the biggest things I'm always afraid of, that I'm going to screw him up. xP
But I'm glad he seemed as he should, and I'm glad you liked it. ^^
