Was driving the Pink Tornado to school today early, as I had a meeting to see if she qualified for the AIG (which is academic giftedness, not an insurance firm) program. I was listening to TRIBES by Seth Godin and he was talking about curiosity and how school hammers it out of you. So I got the PT’s attention.

That's an interesting point, school driving curiosity out of you...I'm reminded of how I went to an awesome high school. I remember in my religion class (it was a Catholic high school, y'see, even though I'm not Catholic), our teacher would have "question box day" where we were encouraged to ask any question we could possibly want to know. This man's brain contained the knowledge of an entire set of encyclopedias and then some, so it was pretty exciting to get to pick it apart. He always encouraged discussion rather than an imposition of ideas. He was a cool dude.

And the Pink Tornado is pretty effing cool herself. :)

Hee. That reminds me of my dad's story of plotting to steal the milk truck when he was 4. After weeks of working it out, he did succeed! LOL. Watch out world, indeed.

Indigo is also being tested for the gifted program. As Blue said, are they going to just see if he's breathing? LOL.I'm equally surprised to hear PT made it, as if there's a doubt to anyone who's met her! They apparently will take months here.
