Etiquette

I’ve hinted recently on Twitter and other areas that I need to make a “proper etiquette for contacting your favorite podcaster” blog post. I was surprised at the response - lots of people were actually for it. I was just letting off steam.

Then I found out that John Scalzi had written something similar, and I’d urge you to go there first. Most of ( Read more... )

Wow, to actually have this problem, instead of having 4,000 subscribers and never hearing from anyone whose name doesn't start with Doug and end with Rapson. :)

Of course, I avoid most of the above by, well, never running Skype.

Hah! Cutting of IM would help, I guess, but I'm rather attached to it. :)

We were just talking about this (Re: DragonCon)...

I try to bug podcasters as little as possible. Save my bugging to email. Skype only when I'm doing something for them (or they're doing something for me).

I'm just starting to get people who squee over meeting me and I rarely get pings on Skype (mostly on Twitter).

I am surprised at how many people, including podcasters, can't find the promo on our home page.

I suppose I fit in the category of person who worries to much about bothering you and other podcasters. I still have a hard time thinking that with all the stuff you do and create for us your fans, that you'd have the time to even chat on IM or answer an email. I know if I did half of what you do I wouldn't have time to sleep or eat. I also understand that your time is precious and don't want to impose.

I am hoping to meet you at Balticon, so you can sign my copy of Playing for Keeps, and so I can squee like a fan boy.

You don't bother. :) And yeah, I'll be at Balticon, and there to meet people, so be sure to say hi!

And if you're sure you're incompetent, you're probably just an insecure, self-loathing little emo-kid. But you might still actually be incompetent.

Or, as they say, just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean I'm not out to get you.
