I just got back from an involuntary vacation from modern society. On Thursday, we had a big storm that I heard almost nothing of since I was at work, where the storm didn't hit as hard. Oh, I can totally imagine how annoying it must have been to be without energy for so long :/ I really wouldn't know what to do in a case like that. Besides maybe sleep all day :D I don't think I could do it. I would be bored to death, especially since there wouldn't be light and I couldn't read either, so...

We went to the dollar store and got some extra flashlights, so I could at least read. I did a lot of sleeping. It probably would have driven me nuts if I hadn't had to go to work. I could at least be away from the lack of electricity for most of the day. Sitting around the house with so little to do... ack!

For some reason, our side of the street and section of this side of the street is lower priority than even people who live right across from us. I still don't get that. On Thursday night, we were riding down the street on the way home from my work and all the houses across the street had lights, all the houses along our side had lights, until we got to this one crossstreet... then our side of the street was dark. These people got power back within hours and we had to wait almost 48 hours. Can someone explain that to me???

I can't explain it, but I can relate to it. Whenever there's a blackout in my neighborhood, my house is always one of the last to get its power back for some reason.

I'm sorry you had to deal with not having power. It sucks when that happens. But yay that everything is ok again.
