Hooray for tax refunds! Not too surprised that you're getting a refund; you did have employment last year, even if it did not last, and there's no way you could have earned enough to actually owe taxes. I am surprised that you were previously unaware of the tastiness of sprouts of Brussels. When I was a kid, we used to pretend they were giant green eyeballs and laugh maniacally as we chomped down on our giant green eyeballs! They are good just plain old steamed, but me also likey with cheese sauce. Keep picking on the lady at Sears, even if its not for the cashier position. Job is job, my friend, you take what you can get. If you go ahead and take the second position, they will also keep you in mind or the one you wanted to begin with. I did not see the L&O with skeet in it, but only because the only L&O that I like is the one with Richard Belzer in it, and I keep forgetting to watch it. Oh, and crab rangoon is much more than simply good. It's kinda like a religious experience, only you don't have to name any particular Deity.
I keep forgetting that the more you actually earn, the more taxes you owe. I think I got some kind of tax cut as well, as last year they had two tax cuts for people who didn't earn very much and they wound up giving me a lot more money back than I ever expected. It kinda seems like something of that sort happened again this year. I'm just happy I didn't wind up owing lots of money on the unemployment; in the long run, they don't seem to tax that much.
My mother did not experiment when she cooked for us because my dad was a grumpy meat and potatoes guy who complained whenever he was served anything too much like an actual vegetable. This is why I have never had brussel sprouts. I probably would have complained too, until I was a teenager and liked vegetables a lot more.
