I went to a Doctor Who Season 3 finale party in Danville this weekend and watched the final episode of the newest season. My feelings towards it? Honestly, not my favorite episode. Why? They made her a Doctor in her own right, had training in the martial arts, and was way too enthusiastic about time travel than is normal. It came across as so one-dimensional and I don't know....forced to me.

So she's like a canon Mary Sue? That's no fun.

Hey, do you guys have plans to see Transformers this weekend? I'm coming home tonight and there I shall stay until Sunday and I'd love to get together with you!

Yes; an incrediably annoying Mary Sue. Not entirely unlikable...just not as likable as the last companion, Rose, ...at least in my IMHO.

Oooer, Transformers! I'd love to get together with you! <3 Let me know when you'd like to go. ^___^ We could try for a Friday night deal again.

Friday sounds awesome. Want to eat someplace in downtown Champaign for a change of pace? I heard the K.O. Fusion place was pretty good. And the bar, 1 East Main (or 2 East Main? I dunno) is a good place for burgers and the like.

Boy, I'm glad I actually got to watch the final three episodes yesterday, because otherwise all these spoilers sitting right out in the open would have completely destroyed those last few episodes for me. ;)

But I do have to say, I enjoyed the last few episodes. I'm not a gigantic Martha fan either, but you have to admit, she could have been a lot worse. But you're right. They were far too focused on making her think she's a love interest than anything else.

And the Titanic at the end? Classic.

I'm glad you got to catch up on Nu-Who; my favorite episode all season was naturally "Blink." I would have loved to have seen Sally Sparrow as the new companion for the next season but actually I heard it announced yesterday that they're brininging back Donna Noble's (Catherine Tate)character for the 4th season. I'm quite pleased with that, actually. I really liked Donna. ^_^

She's definitely more mature than stupid Martha and twice as cool. I'm sure she'd be a blast to write!!

You know, I actually enjoyed Martha in the last couple of episodes. I liked her a lot better when she wasn't focused on her unrequited "love" of the Doctor, though I do like the fact that she felt like she had to live up to the specter of Rose.

That being said, though Rose was great eye-candy for me, near the end she grated on me. She was just far too stupid at times for belief. Though I did like the quasi-relationship that she and the Doctor had.

Here's to hoping that the next companion enjoys traveling space and time just for the sheer sake of traveling. Anyone knows that I would. Then again, I'd be the companion that ends up getting killed because he got a little too curious or overzealous about things. ^_^
