This was really interesting--the details of her past are so believable, and the ways they impact her relationship with the Doctor are very poignant. I especially like this line, and the whole paragraph it's in, really:
Your entire life was wrong and you made it about doing something right. Every day."
I do have a question, though: who was the man she gave the injection to? Was it the Doctor? And was she euthanizing him?

The man was Renfrew, from the children's home in Day of the Moon (I'm not sure they actually ever said his name in the episode; I can't remember). Sorry that was so confusing! I can explain more if you want/need, and there's a bit more about it in the next chapter. :)
