I am toast. I word warred over 8 hours and 2300 words. I've only got a little over 600 words to meet the minimum. Nobody said anything about actually finishing/stopping at 6000 words. *whimpers*

Actually, I think I can wrap it up with two more scenes of about 500 words each. One way or the other, I will post this on my scheduled day.

For some reason, this story has decided it needs to be written from Uhura's POV, which I've never tried before. I just hope I pull it off without making her seem too stiff. I guess so! Lots to catch up on, well, not really. My life is spectacularly routine in most ways. So what has happened lately that hasn't been routine?

it turns out it wasn't a UTI. They did a culture and didn't grow anything, so I was able to stop the antibiotics. Which, yay, because one of the side effects was to make my face flush and my scalp itch like crazy (but NOT an allergic reaction, just an annoying side effect.) Banged out 1100 words last night, 700 so far today. Going in to work for a couple of hours (took the morning off as comp time for being at the Directors Conference for five hours yesterday) and then back at it. Wheeee!

by damn, I am going to finish this fucking story if it's the last thing I ever do. I've broken 35k on it as of tonight. I have no idea how many words I've written, though, because it's filling in little spots where I can see more action or internal monologues, that kind of stuff, is needed.
