I actually am dropping out of STBB because I just can't get the story written by the 1st. I'm at 80k with no end in sight; I think I got a little over-ambitious. I'll still finish it, but I tell you I feel way better now that I've decided to drop out than I did when I was still plugging away. I felt chained to my laptop everyday, and I felt guilty if I took breaks. Maybe it's the deadline that's doing it to you like it was me?
Heh, over-ambitious I think is becoming my middle name. If I hadn't actually finished a couple longer stories earlier this year, I'd say I always bite off more than I can chew. But I do have those successes. I don't think it was the deadline that threw me, I think it's more I've just been in such a crap headspace that it's taking me a while to climb out of it. I made a major decision today, though, and having done that I can feel some of the pressure easing. Maybe the words will start coming again. If the frequency of my LJ posts is any indication, they will.

Thanks, hon! I'm starting to feel like I may be ready to start writing again. Having gotten one major decision off my chest today, I feel like some of the weight that has been bogging me down has dropped by the wayside. Maybe I'll actually get some words done on a fic.
I think it's not supposed to be a trillion degrees this week! In anticipation of this, I left my windows open today, so we'll see how it all ends up.
I know I usually need motivation to clean, often just someone sitting in my house. If you need me or several of us to come over and sit at you while you clean, we can totally do that.
Maybe if I quit obsessing over what I don't have written, I could get something written! ;p
You know, that sounds like it might just work. How would you feel about coming over Wednesday or Thursday night and sitting at me? I can potter around putting things away and throwing stuff out while you do crafts. If Jo and Tina want to come too, that would be cool also.
If you didn't mind me disappearing into your spare room area to talk to my uncle/therapist for an hour around 9, Thursday would likely work just dandy! :D
