Alice walks through the portal from her world to the Nexus, not bothering to use her PINpoint since the attic seems so willing to let her come and go as she pleases. This time the door leads to a little park with a pond and ducks and flowers growing along the paths.
There's also a bench near the pond. She sits and rests her chin in her hands, staring at the water. Finally she speaks. "If the shower will make the roses bloom / O why lament its fall?" She pauses to throw some bread crumbs to the ducks. "Or, if you prefer, why dwell on the past when things will surely look brighter in the future?"
