Ian Recker, starfighter supreme and recent savior of Earth, walks into the Nexus through an airlock door. He is obviously plagued by dark thoughts. His eyes are glued to the floor, and he barely notices the Nexus sign before he almost runs into it. Once he does, however, it's a whole other ball game. He  glances around wildly, shocked to find himself anywhere other than headquarters. He glances over the sign, then over to the crowds populating the Nexus. Recker didn't know what to think, but he'd rather not face his compatriots just yet. A question it is!

"Uh...Hello, um, sages. My names Recker. Ian Recker." He adds his first name as an afterthought. A deep sigh precedes his question. "So, you had a really important mission to accomplish, and you did. But I paid a horrible price for it...Should I be happy? Mostly, I just feel empty. My friends died so I could achieve my goal. I don't want to dishonor their memory, and we all knew what we were getting into when we started this, but I really don't think I can celebrate. Have any of you ever had to sacrifice almost everything to get something done? How did it turn out for you?"
