Spider comes stumbling in, so much that he grabs hold of a pillar to steady himself. His face is bleeding from several cuts, and so are his arms, where the shirt is ripped. After he's done heaving, he actually looks smug

She looked up from her painting when she heard his steps, ragged, and his voice. She looked startled, and a green line slipped across the painting as she dropped the brush. "Are you okay?"

She opened her eyes and looked at him critically. "You'll be okay?"

"Yeah. Yeah, I'll be fine. I can handle this. I'll get Fat Charlie out, I'll scowl at someone, and everything'll be okay. Yeah." He states this with certainty, but he blinks too often.

"Out? Is he stuck in th' house? We could bake him cookies.... Everythin'll be okay," she said with a punctuating nod.

"Um. The big house, so to say." He looks shifty.

She rolled her eyes. "What'd he you do?"

[a_nansi]

"He. Er. White-collar crime. Which has nothing at all to do with me, I swear."

"What is white-collar crime anyway?"

[a_nansi]

"Doing something wrong with numbers an' stuff so that you get money that isn't yours."

[victormakesart]

"Ooooh, like fraud."

[a_nansi]

"Exactly. But I'll get him out." He shrugs slightly.

"That's good, then. Right?"

[a_nansi]

"Yep. It'll be okay." He grins weakly.

[victormakesart]

She nodded and hugged him, cheek against his chest. "It will."
