"Say that you have given your word, that you will help to find a defenceless young child, whose family has been murdered, and who has been abducted and lost somewhere. The situation is difficult; if you fail on your next attempt, she will almost certainly be killed. An acquaintance of yours is in the same danger, but you know where to find him and can force him to safety if necessary, or if worst comes to worst leave with no significant loss to anyone.
"The murderers have already made you a deal. If you accompany them to a place where you have no protection- in this case, the protection of the AV field- they will not kill the child or your acquaintance. At least not yet. If you fail, you always have the option of doing as they ask, if only to buy more time, but you will certainly end up tortured to death.
"Assuming that death, for you, need not be permanent, though keeping in mind that they will have your body in their possession even if you come back to life, and it would be very hard to get said body away from them... Would you abandon the job, the child, and your friend acquaintance, or do what you can to buy more time."
He sighs. He's not happy stating everything so bluntly like that, but if he doesn't give at least these details, any advice he gets would be uninformed and probably unhelpful...
Oh yes. "Lady Door? We have a situation."
((And despite his seeming not to care, the marquis has sent rats out to find Richard. Invoking a Richard Mayhew, please? ^.^))
((Mun is off to dinner and will be back in an hour. And back!))
