Summary: Is to come
It was kind of hard not to notice them. The restaurant I entered was one that not many went too much because you never knew if they would serve you edible food. Today I knew it was on the safe side; my friend was working.
It was easy to count the number of customers so when I looked around I saw them. They sat in the corner, away from the windows and most of the tables. They seemed to try to be like any other normal couple. I would probably have missed them if I hadn't recently watched Twilight. I froze in my step as my brain recognized them as Robert and Kirsten. I hoped I wasn't that obvious. With as much grace as I could muster, I continued toward the bar, where I usually ate while waiting for my friend to end his shift.
Waiting to be noticed by the wait staff, I glanced toward the famous couple. I didn't think they looked much different from the couple they played in the movie and they were quite cute together. They had plates of food in front of them, but nothing looked like it had been touched. If I had read the rumours that surrounded them correctly they were now a couple. They acted like they had known each other for a long time, but at the same new in one way. I watched as Robert played with Kirsten's hair, obviously listening to something she told him.
I had to turn away when I was noticed by one of the waitresses. She took my order and greeting for my friend in the kitchen. Noticing my interest in the romantic couple, as she leaned forward saying, "Isn't new love amazing?"
I smiled, "I don't think they recently fell in love with each other."
She looked at them and then back at me. With a shrug she left to fill a glass with diet cola.
"Would you want to bet?" she asked when she gave the glass to me.
I turned to look at them again. They were lost in a kiss. "No. I'd never do that. They probably wouldn't tell us anyway." I turned back to the waitress and saw her make a move to go towards them. "Please don't bother them. I think they need the anonymity," I added.
"If you say so," she said and walked into the kitchen instead.
I took a drink of my Coke, but had a hard time not letting my eyes wander toward them. They had finished their kiss and started eating.
I was broken from my observation and thoughts when my friend came through the kitchen door with my food. He stopped as his eyes grew wide when he saw them. He opened his mouth to excitedly announce their presence but stopped when he saw my embarrassed expression.
"Cute aren't they?" he said, leaning in toward me. "Wish you were her, don't you?"
"Oh, please. Not you too."
"What?"
"It's starting to get old… you know." I smiled.
Looking towards the corner again made my smile wider. They sure looked like it wasn't their first date. 'Yeah, go for her Robert,' was my silent encouragement before turning back around to enjoy my meal.
