He wasn't ready for the feelings inside him that had been woken when the elf had jumped up behind him on the horse.
Eomer was very aware of Legolas all the way to the stables, but at the same time he could not feel the extra weight he would make. Eomer wished the way to the stables had been so much longer so he could hear the elf's ringing voice. Not that Legolas said much, but it seemed to linger.
At the stables, Legolas gliding down from the horse made the warmth Eomer had felt disappear at once and he missed it. Wanting to feel part of what the elf had awoken, he gathered his courage, "Would you want to share dinner with me?"
Legolas looked up with his azure blue eyes, "It would be nice, Eomer."
Eomer's heart flipped. The elf said yes. He responded with a big smile.
